Guests : Takashi Carré
Takashi Kumagai, known for his participation in such projets as Cafard Carré, made a holiday time visit to Hotel Rustique.

We had a visit to the town centre which included a strangely “Japanese” building.

afterwards we tasted some local beverages

notably geuze.
La Clef d’Or was a spot of three dimensional birthday times.Next on the agenda was a concert of Cafard Carré “l’âme du élan”.

and the after concert photo shoot. Thank you to Anne-Claire for the invitation.

after a normal round of urban violence,

we found a lesser known fountain

and a strange beer hall

after the return to the hotel,

Takashi shared a song.
A highlight of the visit was a visit to the woods.
including a sighting of Kumaotoko, discoveries of ancient bridge building techniques,

and amazing moss communities.

The Official Cafard Carré Mascot was documented,
as was a demonstration of ice age sporting techniques.
We found a possible sister hotel for the Rustique.

The next day we decided to take a trip to Forest, rather than to the forest.

However, we quickly passed through and found ourselves having “frites” in Ixelles.
The conquest of local cuisine was celebrated by an evening of another cuisine made by Guest Chef Carré.

A day which started out as a simple visit to the museum,

Ended up in a exotic sandwich

and a visit to Flanders.

We ended up finding a castle.

We went directly to work.

We came to know Flemish hunting rituals,

Russian street life,

Datcha customs,

that wax is not always a forgiving media,

and contemporary art.

The Cyrillic alphabet,

the dilapidated gate house,

the odd water spout,

and the covered bridge,

were to have their ramifications later on in the evening.

Peacefully resolved by new skills,

and an exhibition of traditional costumes.

A new Compilodog followed us to the hotel.

we found a new car.
It was decided that the best way to start the year was a trip to Bruges.

The sun came to visit for the first time of the year.

We celebrated with cuberdon, a Belgian specialty.

Takashi tried out the Windmill dance depicted in the freize.

The night lights gave a new felling to the town.

Candy looked sweeter,

buildings looked cuter,

and frites looked bigger.

This was the discovery of the day.

Evidence of beer curiousity, is there a “best beer” ?

We celebrated our research with a Tartiflette. Before…

…and after ! A delicious discovery.

The snow came to visit in the night.

So we went back to visit the museum de l’armée !

There were some cool hats…

interesting inventions

old airplanes

a battle scene

early hip hop DJs

And an unplanned emergency airlift.

We relaxed after the excitement by investigating foam mountains.

and look at patriotic dog houses.

Takashi shared a reenactment of “dogs at war”

This sausage vest was of particular interest.

As were these animal instruments. Due to the snow we were not able to visit the view from the arch.

So we had some “frites carbonnades.”

and a walk in the park.

later on we made gyoza

and a galette du roi.
The next evening Cafard Carré played a concert. This is the 30 minute concert video.

The next two days went very quickly with dessert tasting…

Geuze tasting…

breakfast…

And the trip to the train station.
All in all a great experience. And a great guest. Welcome back !
