  • Guests : Thomas Bonvalet & Simon Quéheillard

The hotel was pleased to have the passage of two French musical pioneers and good friends:

    Thomas Bonvalet
    &
    Simon Quéheillard

We met them in the process of warming up for their concert at SCHIP.

Here is a song of Simon in concert.

And here is a composition of L’Ocelle Mare

The next day we left for Liège.

Liège feels a lot like Seattle a strange modern city, the mist gave it a mystic feeling.

The Sunday market was quite interresting, with a wide selection of furs, and other critters.

We stopped to taste a specialty of Liège.

    “Boulets sauce lapin”

Thomas opted for frites and salade.
The hôtel took the full plate with two boulets.  *** three stars!
The interior was rather charged with memorabilia & a thick accent liègoise !

    we found some dating options,

took a stroll past the symbol of the city

flying dolphin ? flying fish ? Mystery animal !

We took a hike up the longest staircase in Belgium.

Where we found a poineer in the fog !

Upon our descent, we caught some shocking fashion trends.

And a rare example of a “Café Chantant” or piano bar. We have some beverages and listened to voiced and harmonicas ! A real appetizer !

The concert hall had a nice tile floor.

The colors and acoustics were pleasing.

As was our kefta and middle eastern dinner.

On our return to Brussels we met the famous rapper Corny Big.

and some country homes in the city.

the next day we shared a tart.

Followed up by a morning visit to the military museum.

This time there were other fashion secrets to be found.

    Strange birdlike warriors.

and a reunion of old friends.

part of the visit was extremely cold.

    another part, rather colorful,

the golem came to greet us. So we quickly left for Charleroi.

This was the place where Thomas played an extrordinary concert, happily remembered but not filmed.

We went for a small exploration of the town, here is the town hall,

This is “pitta square” the most colorful neon kebab corner of the country !

    No need to comment !

After this we returned to the venue.

and passed the glorious halls of Charleroi.

Thomas after concert instalation is what we leave you with for this episode. Many fine concerts were enjoyed and good ideas shared. Thank you for your visit and come back soon !
